Ingredients

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups milk (for gravy)
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free flour (for gravy)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the gluten-free flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1 inch thick, and cut into biscuits. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  4. For the gravy, cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Sprinkle the gluten-free flour over the sausage and stir to combine.
  5. Slowly whisk in 2 cups of milk, cooking until thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve the biscuits topped with sausage gravy.

Notes

Store leftovers in airtight containers. Biscuits can be kept at room temperature for up to two days, while gravy should be refrigerated for up to three days.
