Description
A simple and classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 400g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente.
- While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic and chili flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden but not browned.
- Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of the cooking water.
- Add the pasta to the pan with the garlic oil, tossing to coat.
- If needed, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to help the sauce cling to the pasta.
- Season with salt and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use high-quality olive oil for the best flavor.
- Do not let the garlic burn, as it will turn bitter.
- Adjust the amount of chili flakes to suit your spice preference.
