Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef sirloin or round steak
- 1 cup gluten free all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Oil for frying
- Gravy (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Tenderize the steak by pounding it until it’s about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into serving-sized pieces.
- In a shallow bowl, mix gluten free flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- Dredge the steak pieces in the flour mixture, then dip them in the egg mixture, and finally coat them in the flour again.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the coated steak for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels and serve with gravy if desired.
Notes
For a crunchier texture, double coat the steak by dipping it in the egg mixture and flour twice. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature; it should read 145°F for medium-rare steak.
