Description

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 cups sliced apples (preferably Granny Smith)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the gluten-free flour, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out half of the dough and place it in a pie dish.
  6. Toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cornstarch in another bowl.
  7. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.
  8. Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the apples, sealing the edges.
  9. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  10. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  11. Let cool before serving.
