Description

A comforting and hearty gluten-free dish made with ground meat, vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (gluten free)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and carrots, sautéing until softened.
  3. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and beef broth, then add peas and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Spread the meat mixture into a baking dish.
  6. Top with mashed potatoes, smoothing out with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with fresh herbs if desired before serving.

Notes

For a creamier topping, add a splash of milk or cream to the mashed potatoes before spreading them over the meat mixture.
