Description
This recipe offers a fluffy gluten-free bread that is perfect for sandwiches, toast, or enjoyed on its own.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast (optional for extra fluffiness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using).
- Activate Yeast: If using yeast, mix it in a small bowl with warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the warm water, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms. If using yeast, add it at this stage.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Shape the Loaf: Form the dough into a loaf shape and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it Rise: Cover the loaf with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until slightly puffed.
- Bake: Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes or until golden brown and sounding hollow when tapped.
- Cool: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
