Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, and celery. Cook until soft.
  2. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, milk, and a pinch of salt to form the dumpling dough.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering broth.
  5. Add shredded chicken and season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
  6. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
  7. Serve hot.
