Ingredients

- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 4 cups water
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 tbsp coarse salt
- 1/4 cup black food coloring
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Mix in flour and salt until dough forms.
- Knead for 5 minutes, then let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Roll dough into small balls and flatten slightly.
- Boil baking soda and water in a pot. Boil pretzel bites for 30 seconds.
- Drain and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Use black food coloring to draw spiderweb designs.
- Sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
