- 1 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- Alternately add flour mixture and milk to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in diced apples. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon for topping and sprinkle over the batter.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before slicing.

- For extra sweetness, drizzle with a simple powdered sugar glaze.
