Description

A delicious and easy slow cooker apple butter recipe infused with warm fall spices. Perfect for spreading on toast, pancakes, or using in desserts.


Ingredients

  • 5 lbs apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup apple cider or water

Instructions

  1. Place chopped apples in the slow cooker.
  2. Add sugars, spices, salt, and apple cider. Stir well.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 10 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. After 10 hours, uncover and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  6. Cook uncovered for another 1-2 hours to thicken.
  7. Let cool before transferring to jars.

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
