Description
This Slow Cooker Steak and Cheddar Potato Casserole is a hearty, creamy comfort food dinner packed with juicy steak, tender potatoes, and melty cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
1 ½ lbs sirloin or ribeye steak, cubed
4 large Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup beef broth
1 medium onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp butter
Smoked paprika
Black pepper
Salt
Instructions
1. Sear steak in a skillet with butter until browned.
2. Thinly slice potatoes and layer half in the slow cooker.
3. Top with half of the steak, onion, garlic, and cheddar.
4. Repeat layers, then pour in cream and broth.
5. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper.
6. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4.
7. Add remaining cheese 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for the best melt.
Add bacon or mushrooms for variation.
Let sit uncovered for 10 mins before serving for thicker texture.
