Description

A traditional French dessert shaped like a log, often served during Christmas.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 80g all-purpose flour
  • 20g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 50g powdered sugar
  • 100g dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Sift flour and cocoa powder, then fold into the egg mixture.
  4. Pour batter into a lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Roll the cake while warm, then let it cool.
  6. Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla.
  7. Unroll the cake, spread the cream, then roll again.
  8. Melt chocolate and spread over the log for decoration.

Notes

  • Use a clean kitchen towel to roll the cake to prevent sticking.
  • Chill before serving for easier slicing.
