- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup softened butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, melted butter, and eggs. Stir until combined.
- Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool cakes completely.
- For frosting, beat honey and softened butter until smooth.
- Spread frosting between layers and on top.
