Ingredients

- 750 ml red wine
- 1 orange, sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 cloves
- 1 star anise
- 2 tbsp honey or sugar
- Optional: 50 ml brandy
Instructions
- Pour the red wine into a saucepan.
- Add orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
- Heat gently over low heat, avoiding boiling.
- Stir in honey or sugar until dissolved.
- Optionally, add brandy for extra depth.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Strain and serve warm.
Notes
- Use a dry red wine like Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Do not boil to preserve alcohol content.
