- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For the glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbsp maple syrup, 1 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cranberries and orange zest.
- In a small bowl, mix cream, egg, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and shape into an 8-inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges.
- Place scones on the baking sheet. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
- Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk for the glaze. Drizzle over cooled scones.
