- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cranberries and almonds.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together cream, egg, and almond extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape into a circle about 1 inch thick.
- Cut into 8 wedges and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Ensure the butter is cold for the best texture.
- You can use fresh cranberries if preferred, but adjust sugar accordingly.
