Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toss apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- Transfer apple mixture to a greased 9-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle crumb topping evenly over apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and bubbling.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

- Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
- For extra crunch, add 1/4 cup chopped nuts to topping.
