Description

Crisp and flavorful chocolate-dipped orange biscotti, perfect for pairing with coffee or tea.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in orange zest and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Divide the dough in half and shape each portion into a log about 12 inches long. Place the logs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the logs are firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  7. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). Slice the logs diagonally into 1/2-inch thick pieces and arrange them cut-side down on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the biscotti are crisp and golden. Let cool completely.
  9. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip one end of each biscotti into the melted chocolate and place on a wire rack to set.

  • For a stronger orange flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of orange extract to the dough.
