Description

Cheesy Steak & Rice is a comforting, bold-flavored one-skillet meal packed with juicy steak, melted cheese, and tender rice. Perfect for weeknights or crowd-pleasing dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

450g (1 lb) flank or sirloin steak

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tsp ground cumin

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp garlic powder

1½ cups whole milk

A pinch of salt and pepper

½ tsp ground cumin

2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp chili powder

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

23 cups cooked rice

Instructions

1. Season steak with paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak 3–4 minutes per side.

3. Remove steak, let it rest, then slice thinly.

4. In same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic. Add chili powder and cumin.

5. Pour in milk and bring to a simmer.

6. Stir in shredded cheeses until smooth and creamy.

7. Add cooked rice and fold to coat evenly in cheese sauce.

8. Add sliced steak back into skillet and stir gently.

9. Cook 2 more minutes to heat through. Serve hot.

Notes

Use smoked paprika for extra depth.

Add jalapeños or hot sauce for heat.

Mozzarella can replace Monterey Jack in a pinch.
