Delicious bite-sized tartlets filled with sweet caramelized onions.
Ingredients

- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into small rounds.
- Press pastry rounds into muffin tin.
- Heat butter and oil in a pan.
- Add onions, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Cook onions on low heat until caramelized.
- Stir in balsamic vinegar.
- Spoon onions into pastry shells.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Notes
- Keep heat low for perfect caramelization.
- Use sharp cheddar if Gruyère is unavailable.
- Serve warm.
