Description
Brown Butter Mashed Potatoes are a rich and flavorful twist on traditional mashed potatoes, with the nutty aroma of browned butter enhancing the creamy texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Place the potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold water, and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- While the potatoes cook, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them until smooth.
- Add the browned butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Stir until well combined.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
- For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with milk.
- Use a potato masher for a rustic texture or a hand mixer for a smoother consistency.
