- 2 tbsp flour

- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in vegetable broth and milk, whisking to avoid lumps.
- Add broccoli florets and bring to a simmer.
- Cook for 10-15 minutes until broccoli is tender.
- Reduce heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot.
