Ingredients

- 1 cup steel-cut oats
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
- 1 apple, diced
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Bring water and milk to a boil in a saucepan.
- Add steel-cut oats and reduce heat to a simmer.
- Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add diced apple, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well.
- Continue cooking for 10 more minutes until oats are tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in walnuts and sweetener.
- Serve warm.

- Use any type of milk you prefer.
- Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Top with extra walnuts or apple slices if desired.
