Description

A hearty and nutritious breakfast option combining steel-cut oats with fresh apples and crunchy walnuts.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Bring water and milk to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Add steel-cut oats and reduce heat to a simmer.
  3. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add diced apple, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well.
  5. Continue cooking for 10 more minutes until oats are tender.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in walnuts and sweetener.
  7. Serve warm.
