- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour (for crumb topping)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted (for crumb topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, butter, egg, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle diced apples over the batter.
- In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, brown sugar, flour, and melted butter for the crumb topping.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Granny Smith for best results.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
