- 6 cups thinly sliced apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly in a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and baking powder. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Granny Smith for best results.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
