Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon for coating

Instructions

  1. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  2. In another bowl, mix apple cider, buttermilk, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into donut shapes.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F and fry donuts for 1-2 minutes per side until golden.
  7. Drain on paper towels, then coat in cinnamon sugar.
